The country office of the World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) office in I.R. Iran, and the Center for Environmental and Occupational Health (CEOH) of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME) organized a senior-level strategic meeting to introduce energy-efficient business models and solutions, towards enhancing sustainability and climate-resilience of the health sector. On 22 November, authorities and representatives from MOHME, including Public Health, Curative Affairs, Development and Resource Management, Food and Drug Administration, Research and Technology, and Supreme Council of Health and Food Security; other sectors, including Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ministry of Energy (MOE), Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade (MIMT), and Department of Environment (DOE); and other UN agencies, including UN resident coordinator office, UNFPA, UNDP, and UNICEF gathered at the MOHME conference hall to get introduced to and decide on the proposed financial mechanisms and business models for improving the energy efficiency of energy consumption in the health sector.
Thursday, 22 September 2022, during the recent visit to Gorgan, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Ministry of Health and Medical Education (MOHME), met with local health authorities over an opening ceremony occasion and launched the three vaccine cold rooms in the Golestan province, as one of the two provinces recently equipped by WHO-Iran, followed by a training workshop by UNIDO-Iran on improving operation and maintenance of cold rooms.
